Big Shine Energy is proud to announce membership with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
In today’s evolving world, advances towards energy efficiency are displaying impactful results and being met with great incentive and provision. In support of these push-forward efforts, several platforms for progress and development have formed. Since its inception in 1993, The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has promoted environmental practices in both the construction and building industries, thus giving birth to a global standard for sustainable buildings known as the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED rating system.
As an international green building grading system, projects certified under the LEED program receive world-wide recognition for reaching a benchmark in environmental efficiency. After qualifying on the basis of a point system, projects may obtain a certain level of certification; Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum. LEED may be applied at all stages of development from new construction to existing buildings, even extending to residencies, corporate offices and Hospitals. Cultivated professionals are the heart of the LEED program, specializing in certain levels of construction to search for and apply the best practices within each infrastructure.
At Big Shine Energy we believe education and knowledge are key to the transformation of a greener world. By participating in the LEED credentials program, it is our hope to help our customers take their efforts towards sustainability one step further by becoming experts in green building principles and practices, ourselves. This means higher productivity rates through decreased utility costs and increased structure value. LEED offers three certifications that directly influence our clientele, LEED AP Operations & Maintenance (LEED AP O + M), LEED AP Building Design & Construction (LEED AP BD + C) and LEED Interior Design and Construction (LEED AP ID + C).
Every day is a giant step closer to approaching zero, partnering with USGBC’s LEED program is another step in the right direction. What’s your next step?
